This Saturday, October 10, is World Mental Health Day. It is an opportunity to raise awareness about mental health issues, share educational information on the topic and overcome the stigma that often accompanies mental health challenges. This year, the importance of self-care and being aware of our mental wellness is amplified by the affects the coronavirus has had on our daily lives.

At Rogers Corporation, our first cultural behavior and top priority is to Live Safely. This means we not only protect our physical well-being, but also our emotional health. We are fortunate that our employee benefits include resources specific to addressing mental health wellness. Still, simply having these resources available is not always enough. Our goal is to ensure Rogers employees fully understand their employee assistance benefits, including the extent of benefits available and how to use them.

To assist with this, Rogers is launching an internal Mental Wellness campaign. We are committed to the following goals:

  • Help minimize the stigma related to asking for help in many spaces, particularly mental wellness.
  • Increase accessibility and awareness of mental wellness benefits.
  • Provide employees tools to avoid burnout before it occurs.

By acknowledging that mental health is a priority at Rogers, we aim to take the first step in ensuring that our team members and their dependents receive the support they need. World Mental Health Day is a good time to call attention to this subject, but it is an ongoing effort that we are prepared to support.
