Rogers Corporation has proudly manufactured PORON polyurethane materials for more than 40 years. Unfortunately – despite no one other than Rogers and its joint ventures manufacturing PORON material - there has been a recent increase in imitation material in the marketplace that has resulted in products that, while sometimes improperly labelled as “PORON,” do not meet the high quality standards and specifications of real PORON materials.*
Such deficiencies can lead to product failures, some of them potentially significant.
PORON polyurethane has a unique open-cell structure that provides excellent resistance to stress relaxation and compression set (collapse), delivering superior shock absorption, impact protection, high resiliency and vibration damping. Rogers’ broad portfolio of PORON foams offers an array of solutions developed specifically for protecting components in industrial, electronic and automotive applications and for protecting consumers in medical, footwear and other wearable applications.
Unlike counterfeit material, real PORON polyurethane retains its physical and mechanical properties - including excellent energy absorption and dimensional stability - even at elevated temperatures.
The unique microcellular structure of PORON polyurethane contributes to fabrication ease and design stability. Die cuts are clean, with never a crushed edge, making intricate jobs a production reality.
* PORON is a registered trademark of Rogers and its affiliates. Any sale of a product labelled as “PORON” that was not made by Rogers (or its joint ventures) is counterfeit in nature and infringes upon Rogers trademark rights. The PORON trademark should not be used as a generic term for polyurethane materials.
